Short Tutorial Art Journal Page "Rose Bride"

This page was lots of fun, but I think I got carried away...that happens to all of us sometimes.  You start out with a simple idea and then it starts to snowball into something bigger.  This page took awhile and my camera was not doing well, so I lost some footage. It would have been a more in-depth tutorial if I had it all, but at least I saved some to show you.

Here is the list of products I used for this journal page.

Dylusions Journal (my favorite store bought journal so far)

Prismacolor Pencils for the face (which I drew on graph paper, then scanned to my computer and then printed out on card stock). I like to scan all my faces onto the computer so I can then print them out when I want them in different sizes...the size I draw them in may not be the size I need for a specific layout. This way I can reuse the faces over and over in different projects.

Faber Castell Gelato for the Roses and to start the background

White Gesso for the first layer over the journal pages

Dylusions Ink Spray (Bubblegum Pink)

6" Swirly Stencil

6" Stencil of a Rose

Punchinella stencil

Wallboard Joint Compound for the Roses and the brides dress

Golden Glass Bead Gel for the pretty butterflies I used the Liquid Pearls over the glass beads when they were dried and it gave them the shimmer.

My homemade butterfly stencil...I got the picture online.  There are sites that offer free stencil pictures for you to download.  A sheet of glass and a heat tool with a plastic file decider from the dollar store.  They come in a pack of 6 or 8 for $1.  I also bought some stencil sheets from Hobby Lobby but they didn't work as easy... they are a lot thicker.

Liquid Pearls...(White and Silver) (they look like pearls so I used them to decorate the butterflies and the brides headpiece, eating and necklace.

Golden Titan Buff fluid acrylic and White Acrylic paint

Ranger Distress Ink pad Tea Dye

Rubber Stamp from Hero Art with a saying on it and also a block stamp with 4 random designs

Uni Posca Paint Markers 8 pack...I used the white and black

Uni Ball White #153 gel pen, the black and white of these pens are fantastic and go over any surface I have tried them on so far.  I get them from Jet Pens, they are an online store.  I think that's where I got the Uni Posca Paint Markers, but I am not entirely sure, you would have to check.

Old book of music that I ripped up a page into pieces and glued down with Decoupage glue.

Some glitter for the headpiece roses and the very flakey glitter for the headpiece and the dress

Please let me know if you have any questions because I may have forgotten something.

Thank you!
