Here is my creation for this challenge, and I hope this will help inspire you to come join.

This little mermaid was done with water colors and gel pens on water color paper.  She is so sweet with her little fish friends swimming all around her.  I get some of my inspiration living by the ocean, and I never get tired of drawing a lovely mermaid.  All sweetness and fairytales, that's what I think of when I create one. I hope this picture is an inspiration for some of you.

Thank you for visiting me... Keep creating and sharing the love...

Thank you! xo

This piece was done on chipboard with papers, inks, beads, wire, chain, some molded clay hearts, french ephemera, beeswax, and anything I got my hands on.   I really do enjoy making ornaments that are not always done in the traditional style...like a Santa or a snowman, etc.  Its fun sometimes to just make something pretty for your holiday decorating that's a little different.  Happy Holidays! The Mirror Crack'd Blog

Two Drawings and a Journal Cover Redo

Hello There Wonderful People!

Here is my New Video on Youtube.  This includes two pictures, and a Redo of a journal's cover that I just could not even bare to look at, never mind draw something in.  I know we all have created work at one time or another that we really dislike, and this was what happened with this journal cover.  I absolutely love the journal itself, but I just made the cover so busy that it was not inviting at all.  When I work in a journal I would rather have nothing on the covers until I'm done, or have a cover that says, "Come on in and have some fun".  This journal didn't say that, more like, "Stay away, you're not invited in".  lol

Well, I just couldn't let this wonderful journal go to waste, so I finally decided to do something about it and make a video to share my struggle.   When you go to view the video of the Redo (link below),  there will be a link to the original video (Making Journals) that I made while first creating the journal.  The Making Journals Video was done with a child's camera, and not a very good quality, but it gets the point across.  It actually shows 3 journals that I made, so if you're interested in viewing it there is a link below this video in the description section on youtube.

Please leave me a comment, I would love to know how this was for you, and if any of you have had the same feeling about something you created.  I love sharing things, and when we do share, I think we help others and ourselves so very much... that's the greatest thing about creating and sharing our artwork. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I truly hope you enjoy this video.

Keep on creating, and sharing with others, we all need to feel the love. xo

New Additions To My Shop

Hello my friends,

I finally got around to adding some new pictures to my shop.  These were made a while ago but I have not been getting things uploaded to my store as quickly as I would like to. (I have tons more) We all know how that goes, it seems like I have so many things going on at once I don't know what to start with first.  Some of the artwork I added today were made in a series.  "Always Be" with the little Bee there, instead of the word be.  There are actually 4 of the "Always Be" so far that I have made but I only got three uploaded today for sale, and then I also uploaded "The Witch".

Society6 put my artwork on so many different products it's just so cool. There isn't enough time in the day for me alone to have my artwork reproduced on so many items.  This is the best way to buy an artist work on so many fun products.  I added some pictures below of some of the products they have to offer.

Please stop by my shop and take a look at the newbies there and if you have any questions just comment below.  The link is below to my store.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  xo

Captured Fairy Jars

I made these Captured Fairy Jars a while back for my 3 granddaughters, and I forgot about them.  Then the other day my 8 year old grandson, Hudson, Face-timed me to ask why they couldn't let the fairy out of his sister's fairy jar?   It took me a minute to realize what he was talking about, and then I had to explain...You can't let the fairy free because I had to promise her that we would always keep her safe in the jar so the bad fairy could not steal her good fairy powers.  This is what I came up with at the time, his question got me off guard so I really wasn't prepared for it.  He seemed to be ok with that, and I don't think he will be sneaking open his sister's fairy jar anytime soon.  I hope... but you never know with little boys. lol

My inspiration came from a Youtube video by Suzi Blu which I have attached below. With the holidays approaching us I thought this would be great to share with you all.
 They make wonderful gifts.

Here are some pictures of the Fairy Jars I made for my 3 granddaughters.  On my tags I wrote a little Bio about each fairy.  I tried to match the kind of Fairy I put in each girls jar to what is so special about each of my granddaughters.

I hope you can find the time to enjoy this video and make yourself, or someone you love a little "Captured Fairy Jar"
Enjoy!  xo

Mixed Media Wall Paper Journal Covers & More

I decided to use some wallpaper I had hanging around.  At one of the meetings for CMMAG group in Raleigh NC, I had gotten some of this wallpaper brought in by one of the members.  This all moved with me to FL and I had it packed away in a hall closet, when I found it again.  I just had to do something with it, so I decided to make journal covers with the pieces.  I think they must have been sample pieces, because the biggest piece is 15x15 inches, but for what I needed they worked great.

I also create some papers for journal covers with Gelli papers and Tyveck Envelopes, which I found the project in Beryl Taylor's book, "Mixed Media Explorations".  I have done a few other projects in her book and have enjoyed her artwork so much that I had to do more.

She works with fabric, papers, beads, sewing and more.  Everything in her book is absolutely beautiful and amazing.  Definitely worth buying if you work in these mediums already or want to expand your creativity into something new.

Well, my friends and fellow creative folks, I hope you enjoy this video.  Please leave a comment if you have any questions or just want to say hello.  I appreciate your feedback very much and would love to hear from you all.

Thank you for watching! xo

Having fun and finding Inspiration in New Smyrna Beach!

My gypsy artist partner (friend) Susan Commike is here visiting and we are having a great time... We visited New Smyrna Beach FL yesterday, and found a lovely mermaid hanging out on a front door of a sweet little cottage.  We also found a great little cafe to eat at.   If you are ever hear visiting check this place out.

I love going places that give me great inspiration for some new artwork.  I definitely got some from this place.  The mermaid is so adorable and the little building is so cute.  We would love to turn this into an art studio/gallery.  Check it out!

Sweet Angel Guide Me

MY NEWEST PROJECT!

I made this for a group I belong to as an inspirational piece for the entrants.  I thought a video would be a good idea for those artist just starting out and need a little more then just a picture to look at for inspiration.

This was an easy fast piece.  I didn't want to do anything to involved I just wanted something to make me feel good.  I was feeling sad, and I still am, about Robin Williams passing away.  I think we all need a little angel sometimes to help us get through the darkness.  She surely helped me feel better.

I hope this inspires a few of you.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy. xo

Pretty Little Gypsy Boxes

Here are some of the little wooden boxes that I will be using for my class on Saturday the 16th.  I have them all sanded and ready for 2 coats of gesso.  They will be all prepared for my students to pick their colors, paint them, and create their own pretty little Gypsy Boxes.  I just can't wait to see all the lovely creations that they will make.  What fun!
My Gypsy Artist partner, Susan Commike, will be flying in on Friday to stay for a few days, and will be here to help with the class.  I am so excited to see her and to have her here to help.

ArT FuN DaYs At ThE BeAcH!

Recently I had 6 of my grandchildren over for some beach and pool fun days... I managed to get 3 of them to have some art fun.  We played with my Geli Plate and they made some lovely pictures. They were quite amazed how much fun they could have with this. Even my 12 year old grandson had a blast.  Here are some pics of the lovely artwork they created... also, some pics of Mackenzie and Ellia painting and coloring their stampings.  I just love when they create art because they are always so amazed at their work and really know how to appreciate the art they create.

Unfortunately as we get older we get so insecure about our artwork and can sometimes be our own worse enemies.  If only we could stay thinking as a child.

We did 2 layers on these sheets and I got them to step out of the box with their color choices.  Especially the little one who really only likes pinks and purples...her roses are amazing.
